User Cache Refresh

The User Cache Refresh feature is designed to enhance security and support organizations with frequent employee movements by constantly keeping the usersโ€™ access permissions updated.

This article will provide an overview of User Cache Refresh.

Requirements

Access to the Strato Admin Tool is required to perform these steps. Contact your Regional Consultants if you need assistance.

Features

  • Configurable Refresh Frequency: Admins can set how frequent the system refreshes the user cache.
  • Automatic Cache Refresh: Strato will automatically refresh the user cache whenever a user logs in, and update each user's list of accessible users based on their current permissions.
  • Manual Refresh: Users can still manually refresh the cache if there are changes to user access permissions before the automatic refresh.

Functionality

Admins can set the User Cache Refresh Frequency (in hours) in the Strato Admin Tool under the Other Settings section. The field only accepts whole number values.

The minimum accepted value is 1 hour. If left blank, the refresh frequency is set to 24 hours.

The user cache will refresh when a user logs in after the set amount of hours has passed since the last update. In the example above, the user cache refreshes after a user logs in when more than 24 hours have passed since the last update.

Details of the last cache update can be found in the upper right corner of the Storage Management page.

You can also manually refresh the user cache by clicking the refresh button beside the last cache date field.
