OAuth Enablement for SMTP Services

The OAuth Enablement for SMTP Services enhancement improves email security by providing the option to use a more secure token-based authentication method.

This enhancement currently only supports Microsoft SMTP servers and applies to the SMTP Server Settings section of the Strato Admin Tool.

Requirements

Access to the Strato Admin Tool is required to perform these configurations. Contact your Regional Consultants if you need assistance.

Basic knowledge of SMTP Server Settings in the Strato Admin Tool is also recommended.

Functionality

Strato admins can select Bearer as the Type of authentication under the SMTP Server Settings section.

Selecting Bearer as the authentication type enables you to configure a Microsoft SMTP server as the Email Provider.

Currently, only Microsoft SMTP is supported as an email provider. For details on obtaining the required credentials and configuration information, refer to the official Microsoft documentation.
