Create Template Parameters
Template Parameters are Fields that allow you to output different results based on the selected options or inputs before generating Documents, Emails, and Forms, and running Workflows.
This article explains how to create and configure Template Parameters.
Requirements
Basic knowledge of Field Settings / Manager is required.
Instructions
- In the Field Settings, select the Customer Catalog.
- From the configuration panel below, click Create A New Field under the Actions section.

- The Create A New Field window will appear. Enter a name for the Template Parameter, and set the Field Type to Template Parameter.

- Set the Field Data Type from the following options:

- Single select dropdown: A dropdown that only accepts one answer from a list.
- Multi select dropdown: A dropdown that accepts multiple answers from a list.
- Date: An input field that accepts date values.
- Text: An input field that accepts text values.
- Plain text: Similar to Text, except formatting options are unavailable.
- Number: An input field that accepts number values.
- Optionally, you can set the Template Parameter to only be available for your selected Field Group by enabling the Only for this Field Group? toggle. You can also set this Template Parameter to be created under a new Field Group in the Customer Catalog by enabling the Create under a new Field Group toggle.

- For Text, Plain text, and Number Field Data Types, skip to step 6.
- For Single and Multi select dropdown Field Data Types, click the Add Possible Value button to add possible values to be selected. Repeat to add more possible values as needed.

- Optionally, for the Date Field Data Type, you can restrict the value of the Template Parameter to be less than another Template Parameter by enabling the Value must be less than other value toggle. This is useful in scenarios such as setting start and end dates where the start date must not be later than the end date.

- After configuring your Template Parameter, click Save.
