Configure Left and Right Formula Fields

Left and Right Formula Fields truncate and display a specific number of characters from either the left or right side of the field.

This article explains how to configure Left and Right Formula Fields.

Requirements

Basic knowledge of how to create Formula Fields in the Field Settings / Manager is required.

Instructions

1. After selecting Left or Right as the function for your Formula Field, set the value on the first parameter. This will be the text value that will be truncated. You can manually enter string or text values or use a Datasource Field in the first parameter.

7. For Datasource Fields, you can enable Filter by fields. This allows you to filter the selected Datasource Field with a value coming from another field. You can add more filters by clicking the Add field button.

11. In the second parameter, you can define how many characters will be displayed. You can manually enter a value or use a Datasource Field in the second parameter.
