Create Custom Fields with Conditions in a PDF File [V1]
When using a PDF file as a document template, sometimes you need to mark an option among a set of options. To do this, you can create custom fields with conditions.
Requirements
It is recommended that you learn how to upload and use PDF files as document templates and apply conditions in document templates before you proceed.
Instructions
Follow the steps below to create custom fields with conditions in a PDF file:
- Create a document template with a PDF file.
In this example, the marital status section of a Form W-4 will be marked based on the status of an employee.
- Create custom fields by clicking your cursor and dragging within the document to draw a square or rectangle field.

- Click the field you created, then click the pencil button.

- Type X to mark the box. Adjust the dimensions and placement as needed.

- Click the field again, then click the filter button. The Conditions window will be displayed.

- Add a condition. For this example, the condition will be set so that the if the "Marital Status" field contains "Single", the custom field will show:

- Repeat steps 3-6 for the "Married" custom field.


- Save and Publish the document.
- Preview the document. The custom fields will show based on the employee's marital status.
