Move Folders and Files (File Management)


Users can move around folders and files in File Management and Storage Management to fit their desired file and folder structures, provided that proper authorizations are set for the action.

Moving Folders in File Management

Organizing folders in File Management can be done via the ‘Move’ action button. Users can move folders from the Folder Information page or from the File Management section.

Follow these steps when moving folders in File Management:

  1. Select the folder(s) you want to move. You can choose between these two methods:
    1. On the Folder Information page, click the ‘Move’ button at the upper-right corner of the screen.

    3. Tick the selection box next to the folder name of the folder(s) you want to move. Then, click the ‘Move’ button located at the bottom-right end of the screen.

  2. Select a destination folder from the Folder Selection pop-up screen. You may use the search bar to locate a specific folder or the navigation buttons available at the bottom part of the screen

    1. If you want it to be a â€˜Main folder’, the â€˜Root’ folder must be clicked.



    2. In case you want it to be a subfolder, click the arrow button at the right most part of the folder.

      Users can also view the folder(s) to be moved by clicking the 'View Details' button located at the upper part of the Folder Selection.


  3. Once you have selected a destination folder, click ‘Save’. 


  4. The folder may then be accessed from its new folder location.

    When moving folders, the folders will be automatically positioned at the end of the folder structure (refer to Arrange Folders).


Users can move files in File Management. This can also be done in Storage Management, provided that the files being moved are user files. The categories of the files being moved should match the categories available in the destination folder (refer to Assign Categories).

Moving Files in File and Storage Management

Follow these steps when moving files in File Management and Storage Management:

  1. Select the file(s) you want to move:
    1. To move file(s), you can choose between these two methods:
      • On the File Information page, click the ‘Move’ button at the upper right corner of the page.
      • ‘Move’ button from File Information page


      • Tick the selection box next to the file name of the file you want to move. Then, click the ‘Move’ button at the bottom-left corner of the screen.

      • 💡

        To move user files in Storage Management, click the 'Move' button from the actions bar.


  2. Select the destination folder of your file from the Folder Selection pop-up screen. To locate a specific folder, you may use the search bar or the navigation buttons available at the bottom part of the screen.
    1. Click the folder if you want to select it as the destination folder of your file.


    2. To upload your file in a subfolder, click the arrow button at the right end of the folder.

      Users can also view the file(s) to be moved by clicking the 'View Details' button located at the upper part of the Folder Selection.


  3. Once you have selected the new destination folder for your file, click ‘Save’.

  4. The file(s) may then be accessed from the new folder location.

Moving Multiple Files

In File Management and Storage Management, users have the capability to move multiple files simultaneously. When users are moving more than 20 files that are selected either by ticking the checkbox or by using the 'Select All Files' button from the actions bar, and encounters an error, only the first 5 files that were not moved will be shown on the Notification bell icon.
