Strato 2025-R1
The 2025-R1 release delivers a range of enhancements focused on security, performance, compliance, flexibility, and ease of use. This release introduces meaningful improvements designed to strengthen the capabilities of Strato and provide a more seamless user experience.
HR personnel can now grab pending data from an employees' SuccessFactors People Profile when generating HR documents. This gives greater flexibility in scenarios such as multiple employments or employee movement.
There is now a new Split Text feature in the Template Editor, which simplifies and reduces time on document editing.
The Default Category for folders in Strato Document Management is now optional, making it easier to organize your folders and documents.
Strato Document Management now supports non-English characters in search – from accents to region-specific scripts – so HR and managers can find what they need, no matter the language.
Strato workflows now support password protection for a wider range of file types, including XLS, CSV, and TXT files. The new Language Parameter now allows for localization of SuccessFactors elements like picklists, creating a more consistent experience for users of any language.
Backend improvements to API log storage enhance system performance and security, enabling smoother and faster workflows.
Further security updates include more thorough checking of uploaded files, and automatic refreshing of user permissions at login to keep access secure and always up to date.

Strato Platform
New Feature - Date Math Calculation Enhancement
With this enhancement, users can now use datasource fields with date values as parameters in formula fields. Specifically, users will be able to use Sum and Difference formulas with these date fields.

Security Enhancement - User Cache Refresh in Admin Tool
The new User Cache Refresh parameter in the Admin Tool updates the user access list every login, and allows customizable refresh frequency settings. This security measure ensures that permissions are always up to date, enhancing system integrity and compliance.

New Feature - Optional Default Category
This feature makes the Default Category optional when creating and modifying folders in Strato Document Management. When no default category is specified, users can select from available categories, similar to how Allowed Categories function.

This enhancement implements a validation process that minimizes risks associated with uploading potentially harmful files. The enhanced validation checks for malicious content, stores files in a secured location, and blocks files with harmful extensions from being uploaded.

The File Search feature enhances accessibility by supporting non-English characters as keywords, which makes it easier to search for files in different languages.

Strato Document Generation
New Feature - Improved Password Protection
Workflows with password protection enabled for email attachments can now handle a wider range of non-PDF file types, such as XLS, CSV, TXT, and XML files. With this feature, these non-PDF file types with password protection enabled will automatically be converted to encrypted ZIP files. PDF and XLSX files will retain their respective formats.

New Feature - Language Parameter in Set Container Step
Strato now enables users to define their preferred languages directly in the Workflow's Set Container Values step via the new Language Parameter, allowing for the display of actual Picklist label values rather than numerical IDs. This feature makes monitoring workflow processes simpler and more efficient, with enhanced visibility through the Debug Info on the Workflow Dashboard.

New Feature - Pending Data in User Catalog
For more flexibility in user data handling and workflow building, we have added the new Pending Data in User Catalog feature. This allows the use of pending data from the User Catalog, which was previously exclusive to the Employee Catalog.

The new Split Text feature in the text editor allows users to create sections within a document by highlighting text or images and splitting into separate sections. This feature simplifies document editing by preserving the structure and conditions of the original section while creating new ones.

Speed Improvement - Logs of API calls
The new feature Speed Improvement - Logs of API calls enables the transfer of API logs from Strato to a different storage solution for enhanced security and efficiency. Once activated, new API call logs will be stored in this alternate database, and existing logs will be migrated to this solution. While the functionality remains unchanged, this improvement enables faster execution of Strato Document Generation workflows.

Security Enhancement - Document Conversion
Previously reliant on NodeJS 14, we have upgraded our Document Conversion microservice to NodeJS 20 to align with the latest principles and standards of Amazon Web Services (AWS). This upgrade allows for up-to-date enhancements, such as new fonts and improved security.
